3 COUNTIES VIRTUAL

COASTAL CHALLENGE

We're always looking for ideal challenges so we're super excited about the 'Three Counties Virtual Coastal Challenge' for Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex - in support of East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Our challenge: You can start any of the 3 coastal challenges at any time. As you walk, cycle, run , swim or paddle,l your distances will be added until you have completed the coastal challenge. Starting in Norfolk, complete the 3 distances within the advised time frame below or just pick a county and get started. Each county distance has been carefully mapped out following the coastal paths.

Your progress will be displayed on a GPS Map Leaderboard (by county) each time you add distance to your challenge. For more information on 'How it Works' click here.

Medals will be awarded for each county - which will make a great series to add to your collection! These medals will be posted when you complete each distance.

ROUTE MAPS

When you register you will receive a unique key to enter into the RaceMap App to track your progress. You can track via your mobile phone (this does require a good phone signal at all times)

or you can also use the key to upload a GPX, KML, or TCX file. We do suggest using a GPS tracking app or sportswatch as these do not require a solid phone signal.

All maps and results get automatically updated to the leader board.

There are 3 ways we can monitor your activities that make up the challenge distances.

Live Tracking via your mobile phone >

By using your phone your distances will automatically update to the GPS map and leaderboard. Simply download the App and enter the bib number and key we send you prior to the challenge. You do this only once. When you are ready to start open the App and hit Start Live Tracking. Remember to pause tracking when you have completed that days activity. If your going to be out all day we suggest taking an additional power source for your phone.

Use your sports tracker >

Use Garmin, Polar or Suunto and upload your recorded time onto tracking map. You will need to enter the key we send you for each upload to add distances to your profile.

Upload Your GPX Here (GPX files can be created from strava) KML, TXC File post Race. Explanation on how to upload - Link

Please note >

  • If you do not use a sports tracker or cannot create GPX files please send screenshots to results@chiptiminguk.co.uk.

  • If you cannot use Racemap or upload a GPX file you will not appear on the Racemap leaderboard. We will, however, send you a medal and show you in the overall leader board on chiptiminguk.

  • If your live tracking with your phone or using a sports tracker, your distances and accumulated times will display on the leaderboard.

  • Final times will be displayed on the ChipTimingUK website where you will be able to download an e-certificate to go with your medal.

How It Works Pre Race Day

  • Download the RaceMap App to your phone - You only do this once and it's free!

  • You will receive a confirmation email prior to the event which will contain

    • Your Bib Number

    • A RaceMap key for the App

    • A link to the GPS map.

  • Type the key into the search bar on the Race Map App. The key will open the map and you can register to run with your name and bib number.

  • Share the map with friends and family and they can follow your challenge Challenge Days.

  • Ensure your phone and/or Sports Tracker is fully charged.

  • If you're using Live Tracking on your phone - Open the RaceMap App, select your challenge - Hit Start Live Tracking 15mins before you start.

    IMPORTANT NOTE
Live Tracking via phones can be affected by low signal, dense tree coverage or tight narrow course. We advise using a sport tracker as well!
