WINTER 10K SERIES

 

Haughley Park Winter 10K is a series of 10K trail running events that take place in 250 acres of beautiful Suffolk parkland. Haughley Park is a privately-owned country estate surrounded by ancient woodlands with excellent trails and a stunning Jacobean manor house at its heart. 

The single loop 10K course passes through ancient woodland and forests, around the Manor House itself and across open fields. The trails and paths are well maintained and offer great trail running. 

 

The race starts at 10 am with waves of 30 runners every 10 minutes. Minimum Age 16.

We're working hard to reduce, reuse and recycle so please help us keep this event plastic-free!

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

RACE ROUTE


The course will be a 10K SINGLE loop. The start line is 400m away from the finish line. The course is mixed terrain with open grassland, track and short tarmac sections and will be clearly marked with fluorescent signs. Once you have completed the run you can head straight to your car.
THE START LINE All participants will be asked to present themselves at the start line 2 minutes before their chosen given a wave start time between 10am - 12pm, with a maximum of 30 runner going every 10 minutes. THE FINISH LINE When you cross the finish line you can go straight to your car with no interaction with any staff or other runners. Your time will be automatically recorded by ChipTimingUK

FACILITY INFORMATION


Portable Toilets will be available. No water stations or refreshments. Parking will be clearly marked. There will be no bag drop facilities.




PARKING


The Car park is free and will be clearly marked out making sure you can adhere to social distancing.




KEY INFORMATION - INCLUDING SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES


The event will fully comply with the most up to date Gov't guidelines available and we will update our procedures as and when necessary. Our commitment to you is to deliver a safe, controlled event you can enjoy. No dogs on site. All registration is online. No registration on the day. POSTAL SERVICE All bib numbers, timing tags and medals will be posted out pre-race. All packets will be made up as far in advance of the event. The persons packing the packets will wear face masks, gloves and use alcohol-based hand gel. THE COURSE The course will be wide enough to allow overtaking of at least 1+m spacing. It will be a looped course with a separate start and finish line. Ensuring Runners arriving at the start and runners who have just finished will not mix. THE START LINE All participants will choose a wave start time at the point of registration, with a maximum of 30 runners going every 10 minutes. 2-metre distancing will be required at the start area. Runners will be asked to present themselves at the start line 2 minutes before their chosen wave. A high vis race clock will display the time. THE FINISH LINE When you cross the finish line you can go straight to your car with no interaction with any staff or other runners. Your time will be automatically recorded by ChipTimingUK MEDIC A fully trained private medic will be on site. STAFF Inspire Races Staff will be clearly visible. It will be our role to ensure that social distancing is adhered to throughout the day. All staff will have face masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer available to them. WATER STATIONS There will be NO water stations or refreshments available at the event. You will need to bring your own water supply. There will not be a bag drop. What’s the last date for entries?


The last date for entries is the Friday before the event.




How do I get my Race number?


Please bring your entry confirmation email.You will collect your race number on the day at registration.




I am ill injured or unable to run, what can I do?


You can defer your entry to any other Inspire Races event of a similar price. Please email Info@inspireraces.co.uk with the race details you would like to defer to.




Can I swap my place with a friend?


You can transfer your place up to two weeks prior to the event.




Do you have a waiting list?


No




Can I wear earphones or use an ipod?


You can wear headphones to any event that does not use public roads.




How do I enter a Corporate Team?

Is there a cut-off time for your events?


We do not have cut off times.




How do I enter Inspire races events?

What is the last date for deferrals and category transfers?


Deferrals and category changes can be done up to two weeks prior to the event.




Where do I pick up my t-shirt?


T-shirts are collected from the shop at registration.




Where can I put my bag and/or clothing I don’t want during the race?


There is a bag drop available at all Inspire Races events.




What time does my Race start?

What time do I need to get there?


Please get there one hour before race start time.




Are there any refreshments?


Refreshments will be available on the day from the catering facilities.




Where are the drinks stations?


Drink stations are every 5k.




Where can I collect my race pack?


Race packs to be collected from race registration on the day.




Are there any entries on the day?


Entries will be available on the day at an increased price if there is availability. Please check the website to see if event is sold out.




What happens if I arrive late and miss the start of the race?


As long as you are not later than 15minutes, we will let you run.




Where is the Chip in the Race Pack?


The timing tag is in the race pack. This will need to go on your shoe or it will already be attached to your bib.




Is parking available near the start?


Parking is available near the start.




Where should I go when I arrive?


Go registration pick up your race pack, you are then ready to run.




Do you have a bag drop area?


Yes, bag-drop will be situated near registration.




Do I get a medal?


Yes, you will get a medal.




Can I park nearby?


Yes, you can.




Will there be an award ceremony?


Yes, once the results have come in.
